WEEKEND RECAP

long weekend! it was great! coz usually if you work in the art field, there is no such thing as public holidays... so i was definitely lucky to have one! so recap for the long weekend...

as you see from the previous post... von and i went to chill at the park after work... we actually took some more pix.. but yeah.. too lazy or the motto answer "we're too busy to upload pix on flickr!" so yeah... you'll just have to deal with it!

saturday was pretty much getting ready for chris' departure back to macau for dun know how long... so i was playing the chef and got steak and made her "last supper" at "chandler and monica's home" bye bye "joey!" following dinner was couple of hours of wiiiiiiiii.... i seriously think that meiko, chris and stanley broke my sofa bed! actually it all started at the x'mas party last year when 5ppl decided to lean on the sofa bed and kiss the wall...

click the pix to see the x'mas madness!

anyway, so dinner was great! had a good time! thx everyone for coming and i swear to god, the miis for stanley, chris and meiko do not look like them! and stanley, face it! you're as chubby as i am! dun try to be a lady killer! hahah...

sunday pretty much took it easy in the morning to do laundry and yum cha w/ kau fu + kau mo... then went to work to assist paul on a shoot at the palm store in rockafella center... it's amazing that there were literally no one on the street beside tourist... it took us literally 15min from williamsburg to rockafella center...

sunday beach beach beach beach beach! need i say more? von and i just packed all the munchy and head to coney island and pretty much lounge there until we both got burnt from the sun! it was so fun~~ gotta do that again... actually we were both thinking we should just go there every weekend... long day activity, low cost and getting all the vitamin D as much as we want! so yeah... fun fun fun...

polaroid! and more pix to come...

p.s. i actually put all the zurich/vienna/bregenz/loipersdorf picture in the computer... but i'm "too busy" to upload them on flickr... and yes i actually have a lot to say... i better put them up before i forget what i want to say... you know old ppl like me with their lousy memory! who are you again?!

LAST DAY IN LOIPERSDORF

got up early this morning to start on the pool shoot. we made really good progess for the past couple of days, and manage to finish the shoot ahead of time. good good! my boss (eduard, in case all of you have been wondering.. haha..) thank me for pushing him, because he said he's feeling lazy. i don't blame him, he's been in austria traveling back and forth for the past month. he is actually staying for another month here to do more projects. he'll be flying to beijing, belgium, driving to zurich back and forth again for the next couple of weeks. sounds appealing, but trust me, after these two weeks, i can imagine why he dislike it more and more. traveling is a bitch! especially driving and arrive at the location and start shooting. if i already miss my bed, can you imagine him staying at different places all the time? there is no place like home for sure...

anyway, so today is pretty much the last day as loipersdof, as we finished around 2pm. that means free time to chill and relax! so i did it! i went to treat myself at the spa! hahah. i mean seriously what else i can do at the spa and resort type of hotel thing? i mean if there were any sports, i would totally jump into it. but, there weren't any beside the pool and M A S S A G E. yup! you heard me right! i went and got myself a massage... it was ok... i wish the lady would put more pressure! but anyhow, it was cool. so i had a 50min massage, swam one lap in the pool, got myself toasted in the sauna, and attempt to get burnt under the sun, which i did not succeed. it was great fun and very relaxing. but i just wished that i wasn't alone doing all these. i miss von! i'm getting home sick for sure, and just can't wait to fly back to my b.

anywho, tomolo will be driving back to bregenz. ed said we'll take a scenic route, which means, we have pretty much drove through 75% of austria. roadtrip baby! but a long drive for him, since i don't have my international license, and i don't think he wants me to burn another clutch! heehee. so, 8hrs drive back to bregenz. monday we'll be going to zurich again for the last shoot. then bright tuesday morning i'm heading back to NYC lah! time surely fly when we have a pack schedule! has it been 2 weeks already? ekkk..

this is exactly what i do half of the time w/ my phone camera... i take pix of myself reflecting! yes i am deeply in love w/ my looks... hahah... this is the room i'm staying in, see if you can figure out where things are...

i actually swam a lap in that pool.. holy shit i am so out of shape! badmin anyone?

geeky i know... but the room is so nice... listening to my tunes while i wait...

NEXT STOP LOIPERSDORF

Loiperdorf is approx. 200km from Wien. We are photographing a luxurious hotel and we are staying here too. I don't think i can afford to stay here. At least not the salary i am making now. This is not a touristsy spot either so most likely won't really come here i guess. But it's cool. A little bit jealous? HeeHee

WIEN SKYLINK 2015

the billboard plan for the skylink... according to the plan, it will be completed in 2015... many years from now ah... or maybe the complete project...

the exterior material... b+e loves to use blue glass and blue/white frosted glass vertical glass... but this time around, they decided to use black glass... super hot! and totally darth vader!

me totally loving the construction hat! so why an i not an architect again?!

reflection of me w/ the "darth vader" glass.. hahah...

this is the check-in area of the airport...

these are the two shots that i end up shooting w/ the 4x5 camera... and of coz w/ the help of my boss... i am just loving how the reflection of glass and how the overall space work together w/ the reflection...

i guess that is all for now, and i will upload more images when i am back to NYC... look out on flickr... until then.. ciao!
WIEN

2nd day in wien (vienna, heehee... trying to be all german about it) it's been a long day today. pretty much photographing at the construction site (the new vienna airport). since there is no elevator, my boss and i pretty much carried our equipment up and down the stair... and imagine the size of SFO airport... w/o any elevator, esculator, moving walkways and so forth... all you see is glass and just concrete...

i remember when i was in school and i talked to one of my instructor who was an architectural photographer before, and asked him for advice to become one... first thing he said was: it will be hard for you because you're tiny and you're a girl... you'll run into situations when the building is not complete and you have to take all your equipment with you up and down the stair... when he said that, i was really bummed and seriously thought about pumping some iron and be able to lift heavy stuff... but then after talking to von about it... i was like.. what are the possiblity that i'll photograph or assist on a shoot that the building is nowhere to be completed... so wah-lah.. here it's that chance... but guess what tonai? i was hauling shit w/o any complaint! so screw you w/ that shitty ass advice...

anyway, on w/ the really nice airport... raw buildings are sexy... and the design of it was unbelieveable! the space you see throughout the whole airport! my god! when will it be completed? my boss and i we did two shots together... mainly because i was snapping away w/ my phone, and suggested to my boss... it was great... it's nice to know that i am documenting history and being part of it all... can you imagine that once the airport is complete, no one will ever see the place at its raw form? words just can't describe it or do justice... so i'm gonna put up pictures!
CONSTRUCTION WORKER OR ARCHITECT

C. None of the above. You can still enter a to be finished airport to photograph as a photographer and wear a hard-hat. Look at me with my styling construction hat, and my first time... it was so exciting! FYI this will be the new vienna airport...

It keeps you going and going and going... And at one point you're gone. Then you go get more and keep going...

AT WORK KINDA

First day at the job. Chilling and waiting for the sun to be at the right position. In reality i'm tire as hell, as i just got off the plane.

COFFEE AND CROSSANT

The definite essential breakfast in european country.
CURRENT UPDATE

so it's my 3rd day in europe. i was in zürich for the last 2 days assisting on shoots. really cool to see the building in reality, because half of the time i only see it through photographs. it's a total experience to see it in real life. the air here is so clear and it's just refreshing. food here is great too, mainly because i didn't put as much of a limit on food choice compared back home. (maybe i should stop limiting my choices to my "usual") anyway, let see...

coffee is pretty much the beverage of choice here, and i sure did get plenty of it. especially the first day. had 3 cups of coffee! =O as soon as i landed, breakfast was coffee and crossant. but it was soooooo good. and i don't really eat crossant in the states either. it sure does wake you up!

dinner was great. had veal w/ mushroom and hashbrown. don't ask me what it calls, coz i just can't pronouce it. so forget about it. took pix of all my food, so let see if i can put it up.

currently i'm in bregenz, austria. beau-ti-ful! it's cloudy now, but still! wow! i'm staying with this architect from the client's office. perfect! it's right smack in the "downtown" area... so yes, i can go get postcards and send them out. niffty. so yeah that's pretty much i can think of now. kinda tire, but i'll survive. haha.. i really shouldn't be complaining! =) ok until then... good day...

ON THE PLANE

Sunrise on the plane. Half an hour before landing.

ON MY WAY

My girlfrien is the best! Because she lend me her nano and cool ass headphone... 4gb is better than no music. I will seriously die without my music and my beloved gf... von von i love you!
