DONATION AND PRINTS SELL

Dear Everyone,

As some of you are aware, my father had a stroke almost 4 weeks ago, and have been in the hospital for the 3 weeks now. The team of doctor is doing as much they can to help my father recover, but at the same time nothing has changed or improve since he was admitted to the hospital. My siblings and I are seeking alternative methods to help my father to recover. We turned to acupuncture, and because this method is classify as alternative method, the medical insurance will not cover the expense. Therefore, we are trying to seek as much help as possible financially to help cover the cost. We are seeking donations from friends and family.

And as some of you may know that I recently came back from China and put together a photo exhibition. I am selling these prints in limited quantities to raise money for the cost of acupuncture treatment. You can view the images at the link below:

http://www.20photo.net/HEBS

These images will be a limited of 10 prints for each image. The images are 4" x 5" mounted on a 8" x 10" matboard. Images will be sold $65 and will be sent to you via USPS, once received payment. All prints are printed on archival paper and Epson archival inks, and Prints will be signed with edition number.

All proceeds will go directly toward our father's acupuncture treatment. To order prints, please send all email requests to strokedonation.leong@gmail.com and please specify which images. The title of the image can be found at the end of the site address i.e. 04_sh02_0101.htm

Also, we have set up a blog to keep everyone posted on our father's recovery. The link is below:

THE DAY THAT I ALMOST GOT TICKETS FOR BADMINTON.... (yes... again!)

Title explained it all. I'm leaving tomorrow, and literally the tickets that are for sell for tomorrow morning were completely sold out as I went up stair to ask my sis and bro. Literally! It was in the shopping cart! GONE! Very very bummed out... I don't want to talk about it anymore... =(

LAST DAY, KINDA LIKE

So here it is! The kinda like last day of my trip. Technically speaking, my flight doesn't depart until 5:50pm. But being a great big sister as I always am, I decided to leave for the airport the same time as my bro and sis, as their flight leaves an hour before mine. Anyway, jam pack schedule today. Will first head to the Bird Nest and Aquatic Stadium. Then will have lunch with a person from the B&E office. If time permits, go take a look again at the MOMA, POP-MOMA, and Hybrid Link project around that area. Hopefully I'll remember to take some pictures on my Holga! Afterward, I'll be heading to watch the Football game with my sis! A WHOLE LOT OF WALKING TODAY!

Seriously there were 3 things on my to-do-list in Beijing, and I only did one! ONE! 1) See the Capital Opera House (The Egg), 2) Capital Stadium (Bird Nest) and have 3) Peking Duck! The third one is looking really grim, as we were having a hard time finding the one that people recommended, and by the time we gave up and settle for another, it was already closed! I suggested that perhaps we should have it for lunch tomorrow. It is kind of fatty for lunch time, but then again I have been literally living so damn healthy on this trip, it makes my daily life in NY seems chaotic! Have I mention that we did not hit up a single bar and get ourselves shitface? Nope. We've been going to bed at midnight and waking up at 7am! What's wrong with this picture?

And speaking of picture, I'll be so poor paying for processing, and will take me forever to scan. Assuming any of the pictures are good... and yes I am a photographer. =)
SO CLOSE, YET SO FAR

I almost! ALMOST got to see badminton! I even made my way to the stadium to see if I can get tickets. But literally everyone WANTS tickets, and no one is selling tickets. What is going on?! I guess it is the olympic afterall. Anyway, as I was about to leave the stadium, I met this lady, and was going to share a cab with her. After talking to her for a bit, and explaining to her that I was trying to buy tickets to watch. She suggested that I take her ticket stub and tell the security that I was out to get something to eat and ask them to let me to go back in. Well I tried that and it didn't work. Bummer... but what can you do when security is tight and stuff. At least I made the effort and try. *sigh*.... next Olympic is in London?! Hmmmmm.... should I?!

HEADING NORTH

Off we go to Beijing in couple of hours. Didn't head to any bar and merely had the amount of xlb we anticipated. What is going on?!

.....

I'm not so sure what to say about this trip. Mainly because... well I don't know if there's a because. If I tell you the best part of the trip was the flight, the arrival, the first day we went around town and the couple of hours in Hongzhau and that's it, that can't be good. And if I tell you I have two days complete days of being pissed off all the time, that can't be a good trip either. It is the second time I'm in Shanghai, and I literally forgot how it was like the first time I was here couple of years ago. But I do remember that I didn't enjoy my time here either. So then here it is, the second time. Very very disappointing! The people I'm with? If that one person is in a pissy mood, let just say that for sure 100% the other two people will be dragged downhill as well. WTF man? I paid so much money and traveling half way across the globe to get pissed off? Well not quite, I did shop a whole lot while I'm here. I got a brand new pair of glasses, a pair of Adidas shoe (kinda like the Olympic special addition), two Adidas Olympic t-shirts, and I did meet a random cashier in the Adidas store.

I don't know. The first part of this trip, I'm not feeling it. I'm hoping that the Beijing part would be a whole lot better....

READY SET GO... WELL KINDA

All packed and ready to go! Literally the “first“ vacation I have since I started working in NY! Going back to SF is kindalike, but for sure it gets more complicated everytime we go back. Anyway, first trip oversea with my sister and brother and also first trip oversea for vacation since Macau/HK/Singapore trip back in 2005. Am I excited? Yes and tons of nervous with it? Why? Because there'll be a whole lot of more people will be in Shanghai and Beijing. It's the Olympic! My first hopefully not last Olympic experience. Work hard and totally play hard! Oh FYI: My flight is at 6:15am which usually mean two hrs prior right? Well yes and no, because the first flight of the day you only have to be there 1.5 hrs prior. Which means getting here at 3:30 doesnt help you but sit and wait. I should've kinda sleep in or hug my von von/cry our eyes out because we won't be seeing each other for 10 days. Yes I can be very mushy but hey! I'm HAPPY!

REALLY SCRATCHING MY HEAD

I have been repeating this song for days, possibly a week now. It's so damn good! But how can the video be so weird looking?! It's almost unbearable. I didn't finish watching it, and just stopped in the middle. I think it's best for me to just continue repeating the song w/o any video. Man....

Along with Ivana's song, I have also been repeating this song to death! Didn't I tell you I have a playlist call "repeat to death"?! You should see the counter on iTunes on those songs.

p.s. can't find the actual video. So why settle for people's playing or the half minuet iTune commercial, when you can have Kingdom Heart in the video?! BEST GAME EVER... well right next to Final Fantasy of course!

WHAT YOU SHOULD DO WHEN IT'S "VINDY"

while it's ok to stay at home and do nothing, von and i decided to fly a kite! that's right! we live in NYC and we fly kites!

long story short, there was a kite festival at the park in williamsburg by my work place. initially we wanted to go to that one, because it'll be nice to see all the kites up in the air. so we were all ready to go, and figure there's a K-B toy store on our way to the subway. but apparently, the toy store was closed and now place sells clothes instead. we spent 2 hr running around flushing to see if we can buy a kite. opps. no luck. then finally i remembered there is a walgreen two blocks from my house, and i figure they usually have everything that are very random i.e. von needed a pair of metal handcuffs for her shoot last weekend, and they have it. it's a toy of course! and please don't get any ideas! so anyway, we bought a dollar-ninety-nine (are you out of your mind) dino kite! yes! unfortunately, by the time we got ourselves a kite, it was a bit late to go all the way to williamsburg for the kite fest. instead of spoiling our kite-mode, we decided to explore our neighborhood by going to the park around where we live. i must say it was quite pleasant!

on the side note. core77 had a "Beats, Balls & Beers" black light party. ping pong, beer and black light! what a combination. they did highly recommend all guests to dress in white, headbands, and neon color! von being a dress-up advocate, of course we dressed up!

WHEN SOME THINGS ARE JUST OUT OF YOUR HANDS

Now that I live in NYC, one thing that is starting to annoy me is the damn bus that I HAVE to take to work. The B-Shitty-One (B61)! I just can't win! I get out of the apt at quarter to 9 and take the 7 Express and will aget to the bus stop at 9:20 is. Plenty to time to spare to take the bus at 9:33. If I'm really lucky that day, the bus will show up at 9:36 (3 min late but still the same bus according to schedule. But if I'm really unlucky like today. The bus decided to show up at 10:12! Where the fuck are all the other buses? I saw the same 2 buses that were passing by the stop across (inbound to Queensboro) passed by in front of my eyes with people on the bus, but with Next Bus Please going the outbound route! What does this tell you? Someone is slacking and they are very behind in schedule. But what about all the people that are waiting at the stop? What about me, who was calmly waiting for the bus for 30+ min? Don't even get me started on my commute bacl home! It's basically the same shit!

ON THE ROAD

Let it be short or long trips, only traveling makes me feel alive and existing.

AT THE PARK

Jamba juice and almonds. What a combination! In reality it may not be the best idea to sit in the park if it's a cloudy day. But oh well! I still enjoy it!
